Sabrina is an experienced advocacy, policy and communications professional who has worked extensively with civil society and non-profit organizations both in the Canadian and international contexts. In 2021 she ran as a candidate for election in the Canadian federal election for the Liberal Party in the riding of Calgary-Centre and she utilized grassroots and digital mechanisms for voter engagement.
In 2019 she launched her first consulting partnership focused on the delivery of government relations, advocacy and strategic communications which included the COVID-19 Crisis Response and policy development for the Taykwa Tagamou First Nation in N. Ontario and strategic communications for the Dene Nation. In 2021, Sabrina launched a second firm, focused on advocacy for non-profits and the international development sector, including influencing Canada's recent billion dollar investment into global vaccine efforts through the COVAX and ACT-A Mechanisms.
Her professional career has included work in youth and international relations. In 2018, she served as the co-chair of the Youth 7 (Y7) Summit, a Formal Engagement Group under Canada’s G7 Presidency, including leading the national digital consultations with Canadian youth. In 2018 and 2019 she served as an Electoral Observer for the Commonwealth to Presidental elections in Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka respectively including serving as an author for the final mission report and recommendations to each government on the electoral process with respect to diversity and inclusion, including the engagement of youth and women as political participants.
