Imagine this: a City Council that proportionally represents your community.

In 2021, Calgary elected its first-ever woman mayor and a near-record of women councillors, making our City Council more representative of the city it serves.

However, the road to equity doesn’t end here.

Our mission at Ask Her is to support gender-balanced and inclusive representation in municipal leadership spaces, including city government, political campaigns, local boards, and more.

WHAT WE DO

AMPLIFY HER

Build awareness and understanding around the barriers to women entering politics and the importance of gender parity and diverse representation in municipal government.

SUPPORT HER

Provide opportunities for women to develop connections and build a strong political network of other candidates, volunteers, sponsors, funders, and other supporters.

PREPARE HER

Equip, encourage, and empower women to run an effective campaign. We provide online and in-person training, development, and resources to gain key skills in leadership, fundraising, campaigning, and more and connect them with the proper people and resources necessary for success.
