Mentor Her is designed for:

• Those who identify as womxn

• Someone who is interested in learning how to increase their political engagement and considering political candidacy.

• A diverse representative of the Calgary community, providing the opportunity for womxn with Indigenous, visible minority, racialized, and LGBTQ2S+ backgrounds to participate in the program.

As a Mentor Her Participant, you will:

• Be mentored by a diverse group of incredible womxn who currently hold, or have held, elected office 

• Be placed in a small group alongside other participants for an intimate experience

• Be expected to attend all four, 90-minute, (virtual) mentorship sessions, with an option to attend a fifth session specifically designed for racialized womxn (schedule is available below). 

• Learn more  about the intricacies of:

  • Fundraising

  • Campaigning

  • Inspirations and Motivations

  • Navigating media and public life

  • Addressing microaggressions, and more

• Be encouraged to maintain relationships with mentors upon completion of the program 

Mentor Her Fall 2020 Schedule

There will be a total of six sessions. Please note the specific participation notes listed below.

• Tuesday, October 13 from 6 PM-8 PM (includes an orientation)

• Tuesday, October 27 from 6 PM-7:30 PM

• Tuesday, November 10 from 6 PM-7:30 PM

• Tuesday, November 24 from 6P - 7:30PM (LGBTQ2S+ participants only)

• Tuesday, December 1 from 6 PM-7:30 PM

• Tuesday, December 8 from 6 PM-7:30 PM (Racialized participants only)
