Gillian Hynes (she/her)

Past President

Gillian is an active member in the municipal and provincial business and non-profit community who is committed to improving the lives and well-being of women and other marginalized groups. This commitment stems from several passions: advancing equity and inclusion; connecting people to build vibrant communities; building curiosity to develop creative organizational & community solutions. Gillian is a senior leader in the Energy industry, specializing in People and Talent strategy. She is committed to making a positive impact and lives her belief that healthy and sustainable organizations and communities require diverse leaders.

In addition to Ask Her, she sits on the CPHR-Alberta board of Directors, helping to advance the HR profession in Alberta. She is also a Coach for the Girls20 Young Directors program. Gillian has an MBA from Queens University, a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary, a Certificate in Social Impact from Queens University and holds her CPHR designation. She is a 2019 Young Women in Energy award winner and 2019 Canadian HR Awards Woman of Distinction Nominee. Gillian is a self-appointed foodie, avid world traveler and a loves a hot cup of coffee. She lives in Calgary with her firefighter partner and two children.
